The path to Dr. Ghofrani's current position as a head physician in the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Giessen and to his practice for Plastic/Aesthetic Surgery and Hand Surgery has been the path of an ever increasing level of specialisation with a constant focus on plastic surgery where he has concentrated on aesthetic surgery since 1997.
After his studies in human medicine in Europe's largest clinic, the RWTH Aachen (with final marks amongst the top 2% of students), Dr. Ghofrani started his medical career at the clinic for burns and plastic-reconstructive surgery at the RWTH Aachen and stayed for five years. During this period he also completed his doctoral thesis. He then worked as assistant medical director and consultant representative in hospitals in Cologne and Dortmund always in departments for Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery.
In 1998 he received the certificate of specialist in Plastic Surgery from the medical chamber in Nordrhein-Westfalen and in 2001 the additional specialist certificate of Hand Surgery. Dr. Ghofrani is also a trained emergency doctor with many years' experience in intensive care medicine. Dr Ghofrani has been a head physician in Gießen near Frankfurt since January 2003.
Dr. Ghofrani enjoys recognition both from his patients (which is the most important to him) and from his colleagues. As a result he is often invited to give presentations at specialist conferences, he was the initiator and leader of various research projects and has published in national and international specialist journals and books.
